so i’ve been doing a lot of thinking, again.
this time i’ve been thinking a lot about thinking and speaking: thinking before speaking and speaking before thinking. as Thumper said:

i honestly believe that she said that with the best intentions, and my mom ingrained it into my brain with the best...
for better or for worse, i am American.
i wrestle with my own struggles and identity as a white, middle class, Christian woman. i have many failures that hurt my reputation but would rather them not perpetuate the stereotypes of my other important classification as being American. sometimes i am embarrassed to call myself “American.”
